Saverio Coletta, BCCC’s Professional Development Coordinator and Talent Acquisitions Specialist, is sometimes the first person to interact with new hires at the college. “Of all of the tasks I have, my personal favorite is when I get to call someone that has been selected for a position and to tell them the great news,” he said. “I pride myself on providing excellent customer service to all, so I take that opportunity to make a great first impression on every new hire at BCCC.”
Coletta started working at the college in 2016 after moving to Baltimore from Orlando, Florida with his wife in 2011. Originally from Philadelphia, he started off as the Professional Development Coordinator before taking on the Talent Acquisitions Specialist role as well. “I have worked in human resources itself for 18 years in various capacities, but mostly in recruiting, training and development, so the dual role is a great fit.”
Although he has two titles and plenty of duties, Coletta is experienced and enthusiastic regarding his job and its many responsibilities. “My dual role presents its challenges,” he said. “Rarely are two days the same!” Coletta does everything from creating and conducting various workshops, to screening resumes for every PIN position that is posted and much, much more.
Coletta is proud to provide high quality service to his colleagues and he does so with a smile. “I am blessed to work with a great team of individuals in the BCCC Human Resources Department,” he said. “As busy as we may get, people make the time to chat and to see how your day is going, and how they can help.”
Working in a department where everyone has each other’s back is a great source of motivation for Coletta. “I really feel the synergy working with these folks, and I pay it forward by providing prompt follow ups and communications to everyone that needs to get in touch with me,” he said. “My hope is that the positivity carries forward and makes an impact in whatever department to which that individual belongs.”
