“Every day, I walk through these doors to assist our students and to help create leaders for tomorrow,” said Jeff White, the Director of Student Life and Engagement at BCCC. White has a Master of Business Administration and Higher Education and has been with the college for 19 years.
“BCCC gives students hope,” said White. He aims to make students feel at home, which is easy considering his helpful co-workers. “It’s great having colleagues that love their job as much as I do.”
White leads the Office of Student Life and Engagement democratically and values the input of his co-workers. “I make my team feel invested within The Office of Students Life and Engagement,” he said. “One of my philosophies in life is that I treat people better than I expect them to treat me.”
White knows the impact he and his office can have as he himself was a BCCC student that needed direction and leadership to aid in his academic success. Having found success himself, he carries an enthusiasm to give back to the students here at BCCC. “I have a strong passion for student’s success, simply because I once was one of those students with no guidance and the anxiety of failure lurking within my mind.”
