“My dream profession is to become a respiratory educator at BCCC. I’d like to follow in the footsteps of my professor, Tiloy Gilyard. He’s inspired me a lot. I currently work full-time at Johns Hopkins. I’m actually working two jobs right now, in preparation for finding a home. I enjoyed everything about the Respiratory Care program at BCCC. It was something I truly wanted to do, which made it easier for me. College wasn’t necessarily difficult, it was more about knowing how to react to certain situations. My classmates, we all helped each other throughout the program. We had study groups but we also came together as a class to figure out anything we didn’t know or had trouble with. I gave up a lot while in school. I was lucky to have students and professors who understood what I wanted to do with my life. They gave me the time and motivation I needed to be successful. When I wanted to study, they left me alone and gave me peace. New students should know to never give up, take your time and believe in yourself and your success. I’m proud that the College is gaining a good reputation. BCCC is the place to be. It’s not only about school but it’s also a family oriented college. Students, faculty and staff actually care about your success.”
